Accessibility statement
I want everyone to be able to use TrekForge, whatever device or assistive technology they use. It is run by one person in their spare time, so it is not perfect, and I would rather tell you about the gaps than hide them.
How accessible is this site?
TrekForge aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and partially conforms. Some parts do not yet meet the standard, and it has not been fully tested with assistive technology.
Known limitations
- The site has not yet been tested with a screen reader, so there may be problems I do not know about.
- The 3D previews are visual. They work with a mouse, touch or the keyboard. The important facts about each model, including its size and elevation range, are also given as text.
- The map is a visual aid. Your files, distances, elevation ranges and model area are listed in text beside it.
- Models are deleted after 2 hours, and routes 6 hours after you last used them, to protect your privacy. A warning appears 10 minutes before a model goes.
Getting the same information another way
Every important figure is available as text under "Model details". You can download the files without using the 3D preview. If the tool does not work for you, send me your GPX file and the size you would like, and I will do my best to make the model for you.
Reporting a barrier
Please tell me about anything that gets in your way, using the contact form or by emailing [email protected]. Tell me which page you were on and what you were trying to do. I aim to reply within 7 days.
How this was tested
In November 2026 I ran an automated checker (axe) on the main steps and the legal page, and checked keyboard use and narrow screen widths in a browser. The site has not been audited by an independent specialist.
